Sapodilla Bay

Sapodilla Bay is absolutely gorgeous. John and I headed there this morning with our coffee’s and muffins to enjoy a bit of sun and the beauty of some more Turks and Caicos turquoise waters.

Sapodilla Bay in Turks and CaicosUnfortunately the morning was kind of marred by 4 wild potcake dogs that took exception to John walking along the beach in front of what they considered their territory. They came at him barking crazily and showing their teeth and one took a nip at and left his mark on John’s leg.

John was braver than I would have been! He just kept walking slowly towards me without engaging the dogs and once past a certain point the dogs just turned and went back to their “territory.” We sat for a bit but it was a little bit stressful trying to relax and keep on eye on the dogs to make sure they didn’t suddenly decide to come on over and run us out.

So we left Sapodilla Bay and headed to Lemon for some lunch. I had the merquez sausage sandwich with harissa and some amazing roasted potatoes with homemade mayonnaise…yummy! Next time I’ll take a picture of the food.

We came on back to Nat’s place for a swim in the pool and I tried on my snorkeling gear for some practice.

Turks and Caicos SnorkelingWe’ll be going over to Coral Gardens tomorrow morning to do some snorkeling so I wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to drown…figured the pool was a safe place to try it out. I did pretty good! I even dove under water and remembered to blow out when I came up. I think I’m ready for my first snorkeling adventure tomorrow!

Here’s Nat and John taking it easy poolside. Now I’m off to get ready for some tarot reading at Lemon Cafe…if you’re around, stop on by!

That bay looks a lot like one of the beaches I randomly was able to stumble upon while driving around Hawaii. It seems very desolate in terms of human population too, which is something I always love when I go to beaches.
