Josh and Cynthia in Turks and Caicos
Here are some photos of Josh and Cynthia on their honeymoon in Turks and Caicos! We’ve been having a great time with them since they’ve been here. Cynthia is on her way back to Montreal as we speak and Josh leaves tomorrow. Not enough time to do everything we wanted to do with them but they’ll be coming back!

They started off staying at the Mansion for a few nights and were here for my big birthday bash on Sunday…then we whisked them away to the Gansevoort on Sunday night so they could have a 3 day honeymoon alone. Not really a honeymoon if you’re with your parents/in-laws…if you know what I mean!
Then back they came to the Mansion with the jacuzzi (Josh’s favorite thing) and the beach…not too bad, huh. It was great spending time with both Cynthia and Josh. They got to meet most of the people we know and enjoy in Turks and Caicos and there was lots of eating, drinking, laughing and talking. I took way too much time off but it was so worth it!
Taylor Bay Beauty
Just another beautiful Sunday in Turks and Caicos. Headed out to Taylor Bay early this morning and were the first ones on the beach!
That always feels incredible…being alone on an incredibly beautiful beach, letting the dogs run free.

Deserted Taylor Bay
Chia went in the water for the very first time today! She was a little hesitant at first but then followed me in each time. Chia’s been adopted and will hopefully be going to her new home on Wednesday!

I’m gonna miss those ears!
Here’s a picture of Taylor Bay after a “crowd” arrived.

Can’t wait to see this beach in July and August when it’s so still it looks like glass. The first time I saw it, last year in February, it was like that and it just takes your breath away.
Getting a little scared about coming into Montreal on Friday night! Weather forecast is 6 degrees celsius…yikes! Better tell Josh to bring a blanket with him!
Going Home
In 10 days I’m heading back to Montreal for my son’s wedding! I’m really looking forward to seeing him and all my friends and family.
Folks here say you need to get off island every once in awhile or you’ll get a bit crazy. I guess it’s something like having cabin fever during the long Winters in Montreal. You need to get away to get your sanity back.
They say the longer you live in Turks and Caicos, the more often you will want to get away. So far, I haven’t felt that…it’s been six months and aside from missing family and friends and shopping, I could probably go another six months before needing a break.
I mean, when you spend a Sunday at a beautiful home with this as the backyard…not something I’m screaming to get a break from!
But who knows, a couple of years down the road…maybe I’ll be needing to get off Island every 3 or 4 months. At the moment though, I’m really enjoying the beach scene and the sunsets!
Sorry for not posting as often…I’m working my butt off right now so I won’t have to work much when I get to Montreal. Wanna spend time playing with family and friends rather than working! See you soon!
A Day at Amanyara
So far, Sundays are my most favorite days in Turks and Caicos! We started off with breakfast at The Vix Restaurant…it was great! The pancakes were perfect, fluffy and light and I loved the breakfast sausage! John had the yoghurt with berries and some back bacon. Very satisfying.

Not only looks good but tastes good too!
Then we grabbed Oscar and Chia and headed to the beach. It was hot!! We had a swim and talked to some great folks who are thinking they may want to adopt Chia! Keep your fingers crossed. On the walk back I happened upon this great sand creation.

Jabba the Hutt! Love this!
Headed home and took a little nap then got ready to go to Amanyara! Although I’ve seen lots of great photos of Amanyara I was so excited to experience it in person! John and I went with Richard in his Hummer…John drove, he just lovvvves driving the Hummer.
Here’s Richard and John on the path to the entrance of Amanyara.

Here’s the doorway to enter Amanyara. It looks like a catheral…it’s so beautiful.

This is what you see on your walk to the restaurant…a reflecting pond. The minute I walked in my whole body just breathed and I sighed. This place has some mighty powerful feng shui going on!

The food was stupid good and I found my new favorite drink! A champagne mojito…shut-up! Love it…but have to remember to not have more than 2…and that’s pushing it! Everything got kinda hazy, in a good way, after a few of these drinks

Here’s a shot of the bed we were lounging on. That’s some of the food…everything we tried and we tried a lot, was incredible! That’s Emma, one of the managers at Amanyara…she is so great! Attentive, charming, funny…very cool! We also met another manager, Josh, he was wonderful as well and very funny!

Emma and some of the great food we ate. There's salted calamari, codfish balls, vegetable tempura...we had more but they couldn't fit it all on one platter!
We headed out to the deck where there’s a beautiful infinity pool and beds to watch the sunset! The beds were all taken so we sat and chatted and drank and ate some more while we watched the sunset! I was having such a good time that I almost forgot to take pictures of the sunset…I caught a few but would love to go back and do a whole shoot on just the sunset!

Pink Sunset at Amanyara
We headed out about 15 minutes after sunset. It was just so perfect I didn’t want to leave! Will definitely have to go back to Amanyara for another sunset sometime soon!

Leaving Amanyara
We headed to Baci’s with Richard for some pizza and met up with Rebecca, JT, Anna and Christian! Great folks! It was a wonderful way to end a very long, exciting Sunday in Turks and Caicos!
Sunset on Grace Bay Beach
It’s been awhile since I’ve written on the blog! I’ve been caught up in fostering puppies and getting into more of a routine for work.
But I still take time to get some pictures and view sunsets and such, it’s just a matter of making sure I find the time to post them here! I’ll try to be more diligent in doing just that.
Here’s a video of a sunset from Grace Bay Beach. It took about 7 minutes but I sped it up so you can see it in just over a minute! I really need to get a tripod for when I take videos…although this one is pretty steady considering I had a puppy on a leash who had a hard time sitting still!
I’m going to Amanyara on Sunday so I’ll definitely get some pictures and put them up here! I can’t wait, from the photos I’ve seen, I know I’m going to be in awe.
Waves on Grace Bay Beach
Here’s a shot I took of Grace Bay Beach on Monday. The water has been kinda choppy all week…but I like it like that! You jump in and get pushed around by the waves, it’s a lot of fun!

Waves at Grace Bay Beach
I haven’t spent much time in the water lately as I’m usually walking a dog when I’m at the beach. Need to have a full beach day soon! Maybe Sunday if John feels up to it after the huge party at Lemon Cafe on Saturday night. Quicksound will be in da house! It’s going to be wild! Can’t wait!
